Hello Go Getters-
Congratulations on another great county fair! I was so proud of our club. It was so cool to see our bright shirts in action all week. We have amazing kids and have much to be proud of! We took second in the pop tab contest, got a blue ribbon on our booth, sold lots of cow pie bingo spots and coordinated the cow pie bingo events at the fair, had many grand champions, reserve champions, champions, and state fair and alternate selections. Keep up the great work!!!
Some of our members will be heading to State Fair this week and the horse show isn’t until the 13th so I would like to move our August meeting to right before school start to give kids enough time to complete their recordbooks. So I propose the following:
Recordbook work session for anyone who would like help with their record book, Monday, August 22nd from 6:30 to ??? Thesing-Ritter home. I’ll have all the pictures I have taken throughout the year available for printing (I’ll also ask Leah and Emily for jumpdrives with the many wonderful pics they have taken). I also have every supply imaginable that folks can use to craft the perfect book. Come if you want help with your record book
August meeting, goal setting, officer election, and recordbook review on Monday, August 29th from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Thesing-Ritter home. I’ll then submit your recordbooks to the extension office on the 30th. I will provide snacks and drinks for the meeting. And, this will be LAST CALL for any demonstrations for the year. Remember, you MUST complete a demonstration to be an achieving member.
I would like for all of our 8th through 12th grade members to PLEASE consider submitting your record books and Member Evaluation (ME) forms for award and trip consideration at the county level. You have all done amazing work and I’d like to help you to get the recognition and opportunities that come with that work. This will help you as you prepare for those post-secondary applications and scholarships. Plus…it will be fun to participate in the trips!!!!
Record book forms can be found at: http://eauclaire.uwex.edu/4-h-youth-development/record-book-and-forms/ The ME forms are also available using the same link. ME forms are due to the Extension Office on the first Monday in October. If you want to get a jump on those forms, I will help folks with those on the 22nd. I need to write recommendations for each of you, so if you had those forms with you on the 29th I could get them all done and submitted with your recordbooks on the 30th. This is a good job to have out of the way before the school year starts
Again, I am so proud of our club!!! Many people commented on the talent and hard work of our members at the fair. I also received numerous compliments from friends of the fair about your work to fund raise and help support the county fair. We are definitely a model 4H club. I am looking forward to another great year together!!!
Thanks!
Jodi

Blue Bird House Project
The Pleasant Hill Go Getters participated in a blue bird project during their April meeting. Beaver Creek Reserve staff presented information about blue bird habitats, nests, housing building and house monitoring. Following the demonstration, members had the opportunity to build a blue bird house of their own. Members are asked to monitor activity of the birds in the houses and report information to the Beaver Creek staff.
